The Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC) softball nipped the visiting Ardrey Kell Knights (Charlotte, NC), 2-1 in Wednesday's non-league outing.

The Warriors now sport a 7-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Porter Ridge for a Southern Carolina 6A/7A outing on Friday, March 13. Weddington will encounter a Pirates team coming off a 10-9 league loss to Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC). The Pirates record now stands at 1-3.

With the loss, Ardrey Kell moves to 4-3 on the season. The Knights travel to Ballantyne Ridge (Charlotte, NC) to encounter the Wolves in a Southwestern 7A/8A outing on Tuesday, March 17. The Wolves come into the outing with a record of 2-5. Ballantyne Ridge won 6-5 in their recent league bout against Palisades (Charlotte, NC)
