March 14, 2023: La Vernia, TX 78121 In Tuesday's non-league contest, the Shiner Comanches (Shiner, TX) softball team overwhelmed the host La Vernia Bears (La Vernia, TX), by a margin of 16-5.
With the triumph, Shiner moves its record to 9-2 on the year. The Comanches travel to Schulenburg (Schulenburg, TX) to play the Shorthorns in a 2A Region IV District 29 contest on Thursday, March 16. The Shorthorns come into the contest with a record of 9-4. Schulenburg won 11-3 in their recent league contest against Flatonia (Flatonia, TX)
In their next game, the Bears play the Gonzales Apaches (Gonzales, TX) in a 4A Region IV District 28 contest, on Tuesday, March 21. La Vernia will attempt to move on its 7-13 season record.
