The Piedmont Panthers softball squad (Monroe, NC), was routed 6-3 in Friday's non-league contest with the visiting Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC)

With the triumph, Weddington improves its record to 8-0 on the year. The Warriors host Legion Collegiate Academy (Rock Hill, SC) to face the Lancers in a non-league contest on Tuesday, March 18. The Lancers enter the contest with a record of 4-3. Legion Collegiate Academy lost 10-1 in their recent non-league contest against Catawba Ridge (Fort Mill, SC)

The Panthers now hold a 6-2 record. They play next when they travel to Parkwood for a Rocky River 2A/3A contest on Tuesday, March 18. Piedmont will face a Wolf Pack squad coming off a 13-5 non-league loss to Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC). The Wolf Pack record now stands at 2-4.
