The West Trojans triumphed over the visiting Lorena Leopards softball squad by a count of 12-2 in Saturday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Trojans play the Troy Trojans (Troy, TX) in a 3A Region III District 17 challenge, on Monday, March 16. West will attempt to upgrade on its 18-4 season record. The Trojans enter the challenge with a 7-11 record after their 7-4 non-league loss to Grandview (Grandview, TX).

The Leopards (15-7) will now prepare for their battle against La Vega (Waco, TX). The Pirates come into the 4A Region III District 23 battle with a 0-10 record. In their last battle, La Vega was routed by Waco (Waco, TX), 17-2, in a non-league battle.
