Texas High School Baseball - Smithson Valley nips San Marcos
March 18, 2022: San Marcos, TX 78666 Smithson Valley Rangers (Spring Branch, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the host San Marcos Rattlers (San Marcos, TX), 3-2 in a non-league test.
With the win, Smithson Valley upgrades its record to 11-2 on the season. The Rangers travel to New Braunfels (New Braunfels, TX) to battle the Unicorns in a 6A Region IV District 27 test on Tuesday, March 22. The Unicorns come into the test with a record of 3-6. New Braunfels lost 9-6 in their recent non-league test against Canyon (New Braunfels, TX)
With the defeat, San Marcos falls to 8-10 on the season. The Rattlers travel to Hays (Buda, TX) to battle the Hawks in a 6A Region IV District 26 test on Tuesday, March 22. The Hawks come into the test with a record of 6-4. Hays lost 12-0 in their recent league test against Lake Travis (Austin, TX)
