The El Monte Lions triumphed over the host Workman Lobos softball squad by a count of 21-13 in Wednesday's non-league battle.

The Lions now sport a 4-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Arroyo for a Mission Valley battle on Monday, March 23. El Monte will confront a Knights team coming off a 15-5 non-league loss to El Rancho (Pico Rivera, CA). The Knights record now stands at 3-7.

With the loss, Workman moves to 4-3 on the season. The Lobos host Pomona (Pomona, CA) to confront the Red Devils in a Miramonte battle on Friday, March 20.
