Game Summary
The Seaman girls’ soccer team kicked off their season with an intense match against Manhattan High School that lasted a total of 100 minutes, including regulation and two (2) overtime periods. Despite both teams putting in their best efforts, the game ended in a hard fought 1-1 draw.
Leading up to the game, Seaman faced some challenges as five players were also part of the 5A State Champion basketball team until shortly before the match. This limited the team’s practice time together, with only one full squad practice before facing Manhattan High School.
It was Manhattan who scored first, putting Seaman at a disadvantage at the 31:52 mark in the game. However, the Vikes responded 8-minutes later with a headed goal from junior midfielder Anna Becker, assisted by Sophomore Ryin Miller. The equalizer came in the first half, showcasing the team’s resilience and determination.
