St. Mary Eagles (Lake Leelanau, MI) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Onekama Portagers (Onekama, MI), 56-48 in a non-league bout.

With the win, St. Mary upgrades its record to 17-3 on the season. The Eagles host Suttons Bay (Suttons Bay, MI) to clash with the Norsemen in a non-league bout on Wednesday, March 8. The Norsemen go into the bout with a record of 5-16. Suttons Bay lost 73-45 in their recent non-league bout against Brethren (Brethren, MI)
