Texas High School Softball - The Woodlands nudges Pearland
March 2, 2023: Pearland, TX 77588 The crowd at Thursday's non-league match between the The Woodlands Highlanders (The Woodlands, TX) and the host Pearland Oilers (Pearland, TX), saw The Woodlands's softball squad nip Pearland by a count of 12-11.
The Highlanders now sport a 7-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Brazoswood for a non-league match on Thursday, March 2. The Woodlands will face a Buccaneers squad coming off a 9-0 league win over Clear Creek (League City, TX). The Buccaneers record now stands at 10-2.
With the loss, Pearland falls to 15-1 on the campaign. The Oilers host Alvin (Alvin, TX) to face the Yellowjackets in a 6A Region III District 23 match on Tuesday, March 7. The Yellowjackets enter the match with a record of 11-5. Alvin won 11-5 in their recent non-league match against Clear Brook (Friendswood, TX)
