Breckenridge Buckaroos (Breckenridge, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Vernon Lions (Vernon, TX), 8-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Buckaroos now sport a 11-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Springtown for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 2. Breckenridge will face a Porcupines squad coming off a 4-3 non-league win over Tascosa (Amarillo, TX). The Porcupines record now stands at 3-1.

With the loss, Vernon falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Lions host Iowa Park (Iowa Park, TX) to face the Hawks in a 3A Region I District 7 challenge on Tuesday, March 5.
