March 20, 2023: Cayce, SC 29033 The crowd at Monday's non-league test between the Brookland-Cayce Bearcats (Cayce, SC) and the visiting Hammond Skyhawks (Columbia, SC), saw Brookland-Cayce's soccer squad knock off Hammond by a count of 3-1.
The Bearcats now hold a 5-5 record. They play next when they travel to Orangeburg-Wilkinson for a AAA Region 5 test on Tuesday, March 21. Brookland-Cayce will meet a Bruins squad coming off a 2-1 league win over Lower Richland (Hopkins, SC). The Bruins record now stands at 4-2.
With the loss, Hammond drops to 1-5 on the season. The Skyhawks travel to Heathwood Hall Episcopal (Columbia, SC) to meet the Highlanders in a SCISA AAAA Region I test on Tuesday, March 28. The Highlanders come into the test with a record of 5-1.
