Desert Vista Thunder (Phoenix, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Perry Pumas (Gilbert, AZ), 5-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Thunder now own a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cienega for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 23. Desert Vista will face a Bobcats squad coming off a 12-4 non-league win over Catalina Foothills (Tucson, AZ). The Bobcats record now stands at 6-6.

With the loss, Perry falls to 6-7 on the campaign. The Pumas travel to Mountain View (Mesa, AZ) to face the Toros in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 22. The Toros enter the challenge with a record of 5-5. Mountain View lost 5-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Xavier College Prep (Phoenix, AZ)
