Virginia High School Softball - Alleghany bounces Staunton
March 20, 2025: Covington, VA 24426 The Alleghany Cougars softball team scored 17 runs and held the visiting Staunton Storm to 0 in the Cougars non-league win on Thursday.
The Cougars now possess a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lebanon for a non-league battle on Saturday, March 22. Alleghany will confront a Pioneers team coming off a 9-1 non-league win over Castlewood (Castlewood, VA). The Pioneers record now stands at 1-0.
With the loss, Staunton moves to 0-2 on the season. The Storm host Buffalo Gap (Swoope, VA) to confront the Bison in a Shenandoah battle on Tuesday, April 1. The Bison come into the battle with a record of 1-0.
