In Friday's league game, the visiting Abilene Eagles baseball team scored a close 7-0 victory over the Cooper Cougars.

The Eagles (11-4) will now prepare for their game against Brownwood (Brownwood, TX). The Lions enter the non-league game with a 5-11 record. In their last match, Brownwood was overwhelmed by Gatesville (Gatesville, TX), 15-2, in a non-league match.

The Cougars now hold a 9-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Memorial for a 5A Region I District 4 game on Tuesday, March 24. Cooper will play a Mavericks team coming off a 8-7 non-league win over Marlow (Marlow, OK). The Mavericks record now stands at 7-15.
