Alaska High School Basketball - Mt. Edgecumbe tops Valdez
March 22, 2023: Valdez, AK 99686 Mt. Edgecumbe Braves (Sitka, AK) boosters left the game satisfied Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad topple the host Valdez Buccaneers (Valdez, AK), 49-34 in a non-league test.
The Braves (22-5) will now prepare for their test against Monroe Catholic (Fairbanks, AK). The Rams go into the non-league test with a 22-5 record. In their last test, Monroe Catholic notched a victory over Kenai Central (Kenai, AK), 53-27, in a non-league test.
The Buccaneers now own a 17-10 record. They play next when they travel to Kenai Central for a non-league test on Thursday, March 23. Valdez will encounter a Kardinals squad coming off a 53-27 non-league loss to Monroe Catholic (Fairbanks, AK). The Kardinals record now stands at 16-13.
