The Litchfield Purple Panthers baseball team scored 9 runs and held the visiting Springfield Senators to 0 in the Purple Panthers non-league win on Saturday.

The Purple Panthers now hold a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Taylorville for a non-league test on Tuesday, March 25. Litchfield will play a Tornadoes team coming off a 12-3 non-league win over Nokomis (Nokomis, IL). The Tornadoes record now stands at 2-0.

With the defeat, Springfield drops to 2-1 on the year. The Senators travel to Dunlap (Dunlap, IL) to play the Eagles in a non-league test on Monday, March 24. The Eagles go into the test with a record of 2-1. Dunlap won 11-1 in their recent non-league test against De Smet Jesuit (St. Louis, MO)
