The North Davidson Black Knights got by the visiting Southern Alamance Patriots softball squad by a count of 5-4 in Thursday's non-league battle.

The Black Knights (4-2) will now prepare for their battle against Asheboro (Asheboro, NC). The Blue Comets go into the Mid-Piedmont 3A battle with a 0-7 record. In their last battle, Asheboro was edged by Central Davidson (Lexington, NC), 19-0, in a league battle.

The Patriots now sport a 6-2 record. They play next when they host Western Alamance for a non-league battle on Saturday, March 25. Southern Alamance will meet a Warriors squad coming off a 22-0 league win over Williams (Burlington, NC). The Warriors record now stands at 6-1.
