Spectators at Thursday's non-league battle between the Downey Vikings (Downey, CA) and the visiting Riverside Prep Silver Knights (Oro Grande, CA), saw Downey's baseball squad beat Riverside Prep by a margin of 5-2.

Coming up next, the Vikings play the Paramount Pirates (Paramount, CA) in a San Gabriel Valley battle, on Tuesday, March 29. Downey will attempt to better on its 8-9 season record. The Pirates enter the battle with a 5-8 record after their 6-5 non-league loss to Torrance (Torrance, CA).
