The Maiden Blue Devils softball squad (Maiden, NC), was routed 14-3 in Wednesday's non-league contest with the visiting Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC)

With the triumph, Alexander Central betters its record to 9-3 on the campaign. The Cougars host South Caldwell (Hudson, NC) to battle the Spartans in a Northwestern 6A/7A bout on Friday, March 27. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 11-1. South Caldwell won 5-4 in their recent non-league bout against Hickory Ridge (Harrisburg, NC)

In their next game, the Blue Devils face the Newton-Conover Red Devils (Newton, NC) in a Western Foothills 4A/5A game, on Thursday, March 26. Maiden will attempt to improve on its 3-6 season record.
