Fans at Wednesday's non-league battle between the Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) and the visiting Asheboro Blue Comets (Asheboro, NC), saw Sun Valley's soccer squad hold off Asheboro by a count of 2-1.

The Spartans (6-2) will now prepare for their battle against Parkwood (Monroe, NC). The Wolf Pack enter the non-league battle with a 4-6 record. In their last battle, Parkwood was edged by Piedmont (Monroe, NC), 8-0, in a league battle.
