In Friday's league match, the host Sierra Chieftains softball team scored a tight 14-13 victory over the Caruthers Blue Raiders.

The Chieftains (5-7) will now prepare for their match against Minarets (O'Neals, CA). The Mustangs go into the Northwest Sequoia- North match with a 7-5 record. In their last game, Minarets was edged by Fowler (Fowler, CA), 1-0, in a league game.

The Blue Raiders now hold a 3-3 record. They play next when they travel to Sunnyside for a non-league game on Monday, March 30. Caruthers will play a Wildcats squad coming off a 11-1 non-league loss to Mission Oak (Tulare, CA). The Wildcats record now stands at 6-6.
