March 28, 2024: Rutherfordton, NC 28139 R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting East Surry Cardinals (Pilot Mountain, NC), 12-1 in a non-league test.
With the win, R-S Central upgrades its record to 10-0 on the season. The Hilltoppers travel to Mitchell (Bakersville, NC) to battle the Mountaineers in a non-league test on Monday, April 1. The Mountaineers come into the test with a record of 4-5. Mitchell lost 9-0 in their recent league test against Draughn (Valdese, NC)
With the defeat, East Surry falls to 5-5 on the season. The Cardinals host North Wilkes (Hays, NC) to battle the Vikings in a Foothills 2A test on Tuesday, April 2. The Vikings come into the test with a record of 3-9.
