Georgia High School Soccer - Clarke Central held off by Athens Academy
March 29, 2022: Athens, GA 30606 The crowd at Tuesday's non-league test between the Athens Academy Spartans (Athens, GA) and the visiting Clarke Central Gladiators (Athens, GA), saw Athens Academy's soccer squad get by Clarke Central by a count of 4-3.
The Spartans now hold a 9-0 record. They play next when they host Prince Avenue Christian for a test on Friday, April 1. Athens Academy will meet a Wolverines squad coming off a 4-2 league win over Loganville Christian Academy (Loganville, GA). The Wolverines record now stands at 7-6.
With the loss, Clarke Central drops to 14-2 on the season. The Gladiators travel to Johnson (Gainesville, GA) to meet the Knights in a AAAAA Region 8 test on Friday, April 1. The Knights come into the test with a record of 15-1. Johnson lost 4-3 in their recent non-league test against Woodward Academy (College Park, GA)
