March 29, 2024: Waltonville, IL 62894 The crowd at Friday's non-league match between the Pinckneyville Panthers (Pinckneyville, IL) and the host Waltonville Spartans (Waltonville, IL), saw Pinckneyville's softball squad nip Waltonville by a count of 5-4.
The Panthers now sport a 6-3 record. They take the field next when they host Frankfort for a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Mississippi match on Monday, April 1. Pinckneyville will face a Redbirds squad coming off a 11-0 non-league win over Zeigler-Royalton (Zeigler, IL). The Redbirds record now stands at 6-4.
