Swanville Bulldogs (Swanville, MN) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Verndale Pirates (Verndale, MN), 52-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Swanville upgrades its record to 13-9 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Pine River-Backus (Pine River, MN) to clash with the Tigers in a A Section 5 bout on Friday, March 4. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 11-13. Pine River-Backus won 69-54 in their recent league bout against Ogilvie (Ogilvie, MN)

Next up, the Pirates clash with the Lake Park-Audubon Raiders (Lake Park, MN) in a non-league bout, on Friday, March 4. Verndale will attempt to upgrade on its 12-12 season record.
