In Thursday's non-league contest, the Wesson Cobras (Wesson, MS) softball team held off the visiting West Lincoln Bears (Brookhaven, MS), by a margin of 6-5.

With the triumph, Wesson moves its record to 2-1 on the year. The Cobras travel to Lawrence County (Monticello, MS) to play the Cougars in a non-league contest on Friday, March 4. The Cougars come into the contest with a record of 0-2. Lawrence County lost 16-2 in their recent non-league contest against Loyd Star (Brookhaven, MS)

In their next game, the Bears play the Brookhaven Panthers (Brookhaven, MS) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, March 5. West Lincoln will attempt to move on its 4-4 season record. The Panthers come into the contest with a 1-3 record after their 11-1 non-league loss to Pearl (Pearl, MS).
