The Apache Junction Prospectors routed the host Marcos de Niza Padres softball squad by a final score of 24-5 in Wednesday's non-league battle.

The Prospectors (6-10) will now prepare for their battle against Coronado (Scottsdale, AZ). The Dons go into the 4A Black Canyon battle with a 0-7 record. In their last battle, Coronado was routed by Vista Grande (Casa Grande, AZ), 20-2, in a league battle.

The Padres now possess a 1-9 record. They play next when they travel to Combs for a non-league battle on Thursday, March 31. Marcos de Niza will meet a Coyotes squad coming off a 21-1 non-league win over Amphitheater (Tucson, AZ). The Coyotes record now stands at 2-5.
