March 30, 2022: Charleston, WV 25314 In Wednesday's league contest, the Winfield Generals (Winfield, WV) softball team overwhelmed the host George Washington Patriots (Charleston, WV), by a margin of 10-2.
With the triumph, Winfield moves its record to 4-0 on the year. The Generals travel to Independence (Coal City, WV) to play the Patriots in a non-league contest on Thursday, March 31. The Patriots come into the contest with a record of 7-3. Independence lost 3-2 in their recent league contest against Wyoming East (New Richmond, WV)
In their next game, the Patriots play the Capital Cougars (Charleston, WV) in a Mountain State contest, on Thursday, March 31. George Washington will attempt to move on its 1-5 season record. The Cougars come into the contest with a 1-3 record after their 10-9 league loss to Riverside (Belle, WV).
