Independence Patriots (Coal City, WV) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Princeton Tigers (Princeton, WV), 23-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they host Liberty for a Coalfield AA challenge on Monday, April 3.

With the loss, Princeton falls to 3-6 on the campaign. The Tigers host Oak Hill (Oak Hill, WV) to battle the Red Devils in a Coalfield AA challenge on Monday, April 3. The Red Devils enter the challenge with a record of 2-4.
