The Butler Bulldogs (Matthews, NC) baseball nipped the visiting R.J. Reynolds Demons (Winston-Salem, NC), 2-1 in Friday's non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Bulldogs play the Garinger Wildcats (Charlotte, NC) in a Southwestern 4A contest, on Tuesday, March 8. Butler will attempt to better on its 1-1 season record. The Wildcats enter the contest with a 1-2 record after their 16-1 non-league loss to Berry (Charlotte, NC).

The Demons now sport a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they host Davie for a Central Piedmont 4A contest on Tuesday, March 8. R.J. Reynolds will play a War Eagles squad coming off a 4-2 non-league loss to West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC). The War Eagles record now stands at 1-2.
