In Friday's non-league challenge, the Chaparral Firebirds (Scottsdale, AZ) baseball squad the host Saguaro Sabercats (Scottsdale, AZ), by a final score of 7-2.

With the win, Chaparral upgrades its record to 3-0 on the season. The Firebirds host Perry (Gilbert, AZ) to battle the Pumas in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 8. The Pumas come into the challenge with a record of 2-1. Perry won 17-7 in their recent non-league challenge against Cibola (Yuma, AZ)
