March 4, 2022: Pontotoc, MS 38863 The South Pontotoc Cougars softball team scored 5 runs and limited the visiting Caledonia Cavaliers to 4 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Friday.
With the triumph, South Pontotoc moves its record to 2-1 on the year. The Cougars host Nettleton (Nettleton, MS) to play the Tigers in a non-league game on Tuesday, March 8. The Tigers come into the game with a record of 1-5.
In their next game, the Cavaliers play the Mooreville Troopers (Mooreville, MS) in a 4A Region 2 game, on Tuesday, March 8. Caledonia will attempt to move on its 6-3 season record. The Troopers come into the game with a 1-2 record after their 10-8 non-league loss to Saltillo (Saltillo, MS).
