In Saturday's non-league outing, the visiting Nixon Mustangs softball team scored a close 5-2 win over the Port Isabel Tarpons.

Coming up next, the Mustangs encounter the Roma Gladiators (Roma, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 30 outing, on Tuesday, March 7. Nixon will attempt to improve on its 6-11 season record. The Gladiators enter the outing with a 10-9 record after their 16-1 non-league loss to La Joya (La Joya, TX).
