West Rusk Raiders (New London, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Carthage Bulldogs (Carthage, TX), 6-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Raiders now own a 14-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Arp for a 3A Region II District 16 challenge on Tuesday, March 8.

With the loss, Carthage falls to 12-5 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Tyler (Tyler, TX) to battle the Lions in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 5. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 2-5. Tyler lost 9-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Athens (Athens, TX)
