Texas High School Softball - Cleveland nudges Shepherd
March 5, 2022: Shepherd, TX 77371 Cleveland Indians (Cleveland, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Shepherd Pirates (Shepherd, TX), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.
The Indians now sport a 7-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to MacArthur for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 5. Cleveland will face a Generals squad coming off a 21-3 league win over Dekaney (Houston, TX). The Generals record now stands at 13-1.
With the loss, Shepherd falls to 1-7 on the campaign. The Pirates host Hamshire-Fannett (Hamshire, TX) to face the Longhorns in a 4A Region III District 21 challenge on Tuesday, March 8. The Longhorns enter the challenge with a record of 14-2. Hamshire-Fannett won 12-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Onalaska (Onalaska, TX)
