Texas High School Softball - Edcouch-Elsa holds off McAllen Memorial
March 5, 2022: McAllen, TX 78501 Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets (Edcouch, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host McAllen Memorial Mustangs (McAllen, TX), 11-9 in a non-league challenge.
The Yellowjackets now own a 6-9 record. They take the field next when they host Mercedes for a 5A Region IV District 32 challenge on Tuesday, March 8. Edcouch-Elsa will face a Tigers squad coming off a 10-6 non-league win over McAllen Memorial (McAllen, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 8-5.
With the loss, McAllen Memorial falls to 0-5 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Valley View (Pharr, TX) to face the Tigers in a 5A Region IV District 31 challenge on Tuesday, March 22. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 2-1.
