Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) followers left the game pleased Friday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Mount Airy Granite Bears (Mount Airy, NC), 7-3 in a non-league match.

With the triumph, Ashe County moves its record to 2-2 on the season. The Huskies host Alleghany (Sparta, NC) to battle the Trojans in a Mountain Valley 2A/3A/4A match on Tuesday, March 10. The Trojans come into the match with a record of 1-1. Alleghany lost 17-10 in their recent non-league match against North Surry (Mount Airy, NC)

The Granite Bears now possess a 0-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to North Wilkes for a non-league match on Monday, March 9. Mount Airy will play a Vikings team coming off a 3-2 non-league loss to Surry Central (Dobson, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 2-1.
