Chireno Owls (Chireno, TX) supporters left the game pleased Friday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting Cushing Bearkats (Cushing, TX), 7-5 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Chireno improves its record to 2-3 on the year. The Owls host Central Heights (Nacogdoches, TX) to battle the Blue Devils in a non-league match on Saturday, March 7. The Blue Devils come into the match with a record of 11-6. Central Heights won 7-5 in their recent non-league match against Timpson (Timpson, TX)

In their next game, the Bearkats battle the Shelbyville Dragons (Shelbyville, TX) in a non-league match, on Saturday, March 7. Cushing will attempt to better on its 9-11 season record. The Dragons come into the match with a 6-8 record after their 5-4 non-league loss to Douglass (Douglass, TX).
