In Thursday's non-league game, the host East Lincoln Mustangs baseball team scored a tight 8-1 victory over the North Gaston Wildcats.

The Mustangs (5-0) will now prepare for their game against Statesville (Statesville, NC). The Greyhounds go into the Western Foothills 3A game with a 0-2 record. In their last game, Statesville was overwhelmed by West Lincoln (Lincolnton, NC), 10-2, in a non-league game.
