Texas High School Baseball - Troup wallops New Summerfield
March 7, 2025: New Summerfield, TX 75780 The crowd at Friday's non-league battle between the Troup Tigers (Troup, TX) and the host New Summerfield Hornets (New Summerfield, TX), saw Troup's baseball team gain a win over New Summerfield by a tally of 15-0.
The Tigers (8-4) will now prepare for their battle against Gladewater (Gladewater, TX). The Bears go into the 3A Region II District 16 challenge with a 8-4 record. In their last challenge, Gladewater was overwhelmed by Chapel Hill (Tyler, TX), 5-3, in a non-league challenge.
With the defeat, New Summerfield drops to 0-7 on the year. The Hornets host Cushing (Cushing, TX) to clash with the Bearkats in a 2A Region III District 22 challenge on Tuesday, March 11. The Bearkats go into the challenge with a record of 4-5. Cushing won 8-7 in their recent non-league challenge against Chireno (Chireno, TX)
