The Sumter Gamecocks softball squad (Sumter, SC), was routed 7-4 in Saturday's non-league contest with the visiting Darlington Falcons (Darlington, SC)

With the triumph, Darlington improves its record to 3-2 on the year. The Falcons travel to Lower Richland (Hopkins, SC) to face the Diamond Hornets in a AAAA Region 5 contest on Monday, March 10. The Diamond Hornets enter the contest with a record of 0-1. Lower Richland lost 27-5 in their recent non-league contest against Northside Christian Academy (Lexington, SC)

The Gamecocks now hold a 2-1 record. They play next when they travel to Spring Valley for a AAAAA Region 5 contest on Tuesday, March 11. Sumter will face a Vikings squad coming off a 16-10 non-league loss to Fox Creek (North Augusta, SC). The Vikings record now stands at 0-1.
