April 1, 2023: Sterling, IL 61081 In Saturday's non-league game, the LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers (LaSalle, IL) soccer squad overwhelmed the host Sterling Golden Warriors (Sterling, IL), by a final score of 4-0.
The Cavaliers (4-3) will now prepare for their game against Kaneland (Maple Park, IL). The Knights go into the Interstate Eight game with a 3-0 record. In their last game, Kaneland tipped Hampshire (Hampshire, IL), 1-0, in a non-league challenge.
The Golden Warriors now have a 0-7 record. They take the field next when they host Geneseo for a Western Big 6 challenge on Tuesday, April 4. Sterling will confront a Maple Leafs team coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Mattoon (Mattoon, IL). The Maple Leafs record now stands at 5-1.
