Illinois High School Soccer - Lutheran toppled by Pleasant Plains/New Berlin
April 1, 2025: Pleasant Plains, IL 62677 Pleasant Plains/New Berlin Cardinals (Pleasant Plains, IL) boosters exited the stadium pleased Tuesday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Lutheran Crusaders (Springfield, IL), 9-0 in a non-league test.
With the triumph, Pleasant Plains/New Berlin moves its record to 7-0 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Williamsville (Williamsville, IL) to clash with the Bullets in a Sangamo test on Friday, April 4. The Bullets come into the test with a record of 6-1. Williamsville lost 4-0 in their recent non-league test against Quincy Notre Dame (Quincy, IL)
The Crusaders now sport a 0-5 record. They take the field next when they host Warrensburg-Latham/Maroa-Forsyth for a non-league test on Thursday, April 3. Lutheran will clash with a Cardinals team coming off a 1-0 non-league loss to Riverton/Tri-City (Riverton, IL). The Cardinals record now stands at 0-5.
