The Florence Gophers baseball team scored 8 runs and held the host Combs Coyotes to 3 in the Gophers non-league win on Thursday.

The Gophers now own a 11-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Apache Junction for a 3A Central test on Tuesday, April 15. Florence will play a Prospectors team coming off a 11-0 league loss to Seton Catholic (Chandler, AZ). The Prospectors record now stands at 9-8.

With the defeat, Combs drops to 4-11 on the year. The Coyotes host Chinle (Chinle, AZ) to play the Wildcats in a non-league test on Friday, April 11. The Wildcats go into the test with a record of 12-8. Chinle won 11-2 in their recent non-league test against Payson (Payson, AZ)
