The Newark Reds triumphed over the visiting Franklin Bulldogs softball squad by a count of 23-2 in Friday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Reds meet the Wayne Eagles (Ontario Center, NY) in a Class A challenge, on Monday, April 13. Newark will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Eagles enter the challenge with a 1-0 record after their 8-7 non-league win over Aquinas Institute (Rochester, NY).
