Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos Loses Lead Early In Defeat
Lafayette Jefferson fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 8-2 loss to Kokomo on Wednesday. Kokomo scored on a single by Cooper Hansen in the first inning and a home run by J.J. Gillespie in the second inning.
The Bronchos struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Kokomo, giving up eight runs.
Kokomo opened up scoring in the first inning, when Hansen singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Kokomo scored three runs in the third inning. John Curl, Patrick Hardimon, and Evan Barker all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Dameion Deis was the winning pitcher for Kokomo. The ace went seven innings, allowing two runs on five hits, striking out five and walking one.
