Tennessee High School Softball - Waverly Central nudges Dobyns-Bennett
April 12, 2024: Kingsport, TN 37664 Waverly Central Tigers (Waverly, TN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Dobyns-Bennett Indians (Kingsport, TN), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.
The Tigers now own a 17-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cleveland for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 13. Waverly Central will battle a Blue Raiders squad coming off a 7-2 non-league win over White County (Sparta, TN). The Blue Raiders record now stands at 14-9.
With the loss, Dobyns-Bennett falls to 9-4 on the campaign. The Indians travel to Gibbs (Corryton, TN) to battle the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 13. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 11-8. Gibbs lost 3-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Silverdale Academy (Chattanooga, TN)
