In Saturday's non-league test, the Charlestown Pirates (Charlestown, IN) softball squad overwhelmed the host Rising Sun Shiners (Rising Sun, IN), by a count of 9-3.

Next, the Pirates meet the North Harrison Cougars (Ramsey, IN) in a Mid-Southern test, on Tuesday, April 15. Charlestown will attempt to upgrade on its 3-1 season record. The Cougars go into the test with a 3-2 record after their 17-0 non-league win over Paoli (Paoli, IN).

The Shiners (1-3) will now prepare for their test against Southwestern (Hanover, IN). The Rebels go into the Ohio River Valley test with a 4-1 record. In their last test, Southwestern held off Austin (Austin, IN), 6-5, in a non-league test.
