Mississippi High School Softball - Newton County bounces Choctaw County
April 12, 2025: Decatur, MS 39327 The Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS) softball routed the visiting Choctaw County Chargers (Ackerman, MS), 9-2 in Saturday's non-league outing.
The Cougars now sport a 16-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Neshoba Central for a non-league outing on Saturday, April 12. Newton County will encounter a Rockets team coming off a 10-6 league loss to Warren Central (Vicksburg, MS). The Rockets record now stands at 13-7.
With the loss, Choctaw County moves to 7-14 on the season. The Chargers travel to Lake (Lake, MS) to encounter the Hornets in a non-league outing on Saturday, April 12. The Hornets come into the outing with a record of 13-9. Lake won 12-0 in their recent league outing against Scott Central (Forest, MS)
