The Sheridan Generals (Thornville, OH) softball nipped the host New Lexington Panthers (New Lexington, OH), 8-7 in Thursday's league bout.

The Generals (7-4) will now prepare for their bout against Fairfield Union (Lancaster, OH). The Falcons go into the non-league bout with a 1-2 record. In their last bout, Fairfield Union was edged by Teays Valley (Ashville, OH), 34-14, in a league bout.

The Panthers now possess a 2-8 record. They play next when they host Crooksville for a Muskingum Valley challenge on Monday, April 17. New Lexington will battle a Ceramics squad coming off a 6-5 non-league loss to Nelsonville-York (Nelsonville, OH). The Ceramics record now stands at 5-7.
